
April Marie Hale grew up in Middle Tennessee where she spent much of her childhood catching frogs, riding horses, and making jewelry out of bugs. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Women's Studies and Art from the University of Memphis, her Craft Certificate in Metalsmithing from the Appalachian Center for Craft, and her Master's in Fine Arts from Montana State University. April is a 2011 recipient of the Montana Artist's Innovation Award from Montana Arts Council.
April’s work, based on humanity’s relationship with the landscape, is shown regionally and nationally and has been included in a number of publications. She also sells a line of jewelry, made primarily from reused/recycled materials, online, at craft shows, and in stores throughout the country. Outside of the studio, April enjoys cross-country skiing, hiking, and finding wonder in her surroundings.
